My Project

My students are amazing people who want to succeed in school. The canopy, rug, and pillows will be used (along with written and verbal instructions) to allow my students to self-regulate. This means that they will be able to identify which emotion(s) they are feeling that is interfering with their learning, choose an effective coping skill, so that they may return to learning. Self-regulation is a skill we all need to utilize from time to time, and our young students often still need to practice and receive help in regulating their emotions. This space will give my students the ability to practice and become more effective managers of their emotions so that they can better attend to their academics and thereby have school success!

As the school counselor, this project has the potential to reach every student in the school.

The bean bags and lap desks will be used as an alternate workspace so that all students who come into my room will be able to choose where they will be the most successful. This project will be so loved and used, it will be a wonderful avenue for school success for our students!
