This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The calendar is a powerful tool to teach children about counting to one hundred, months of the year, birthdays and holidays. It is very important in teaching the days of the week to kindergarten students.
My students are curious with a variety of pre-schooling.
Many of these students do not come with an educational foundation from pre-school or home learning. Many students struggle with counting to 10 at ages 5 and 6. Unfortunately, these students are beginning school with a significant deficit.
My Project
I am requesting an everyday calender to meet the needs of the individual learning styles. The calendar will provide visual and hands on activities. They will be able to keep track of the school year and important dates, such as their birthday. The children will learn to count by ones, tens and hundreds The tape recorder will provide auditory learning.
I know that all students are capable of learning.
The magic is finding the key to their success. My classroom was an extra class. Unlike the other classrooms, our classroom lacks supplies.
