My Project

At Ronald Edmond Learning Center, we are committed to promoting sustainability and ensuring that all students have access to nutritious meals. As part of our ongoing efforts to support our Title I school community, we seek funding for a refrigerator to facilitate our food rescue and brown bag lunch initiatives. This project will allow us to reduce food waste, improve meal accessibility, and teach our students valuable lessons about sustainability and community care.

Project Goals:

1. Enhance Food Rescue Efforts: A refrigerator will allow us to store surplus food from local businesses and community partners. This food can be redistributed to students and their families, helping reduce food insecurity while preventing waste.

2. Promote Brown Bag Lunches: Students can safely store brown bag lunches with a dedicated refrigerator, ensuring that leftovers remain fresh and nutritious throughout the day. This will encourage more students to bring their lunches from home and reduce reliance on single-use packaging.

3. Foster Sustainability Practices: By incorporating food rescue and sustainable lunch habits into our daily routines, we aim to teach students the importance of reducing waste, recycling, and making environmentally conscious choices. These practices will help instill habits that students can carry into the future.
