Help Mrs. Brady

My Students

Our students live in an isolated rural community. Our rural location makes field trips and access to examples of sustainable energy difficult and cost prohibitive. Students lack access to science resources that large communities provide and they rarely have exposure to the latest technologies.

Our building houses the entire K-12 school district.

There are about 50 students in each grade and a total of about 650 students. Our community is very involved in the school and the kids have support from their families. The students are intelligent and hard working.

My Project

Solar cars will provide hands-on experience with a form of sustainable energy. They will gain exposure to the science of solar power and deepen their understanding of sustainable energy. In addition, they will gain inquiry research skills by testing different aspects of the solar car. The work ethic of our students combined with the resources to truly explore science will be a fantastic combination.

Solar cars will be a culmination to a large project on sustainable energy.

This hands-on project will inspire the students to continue studying sustainable energy. In many ways it will change how they view energy consumption for the rest of their lives.
