My Students

Going to school virtually is hard, and for many students they're missing the personal connection and access to materials that being in a building provides! My students are certainly no exception to this, as they've been enrolled in an all virtual model for the 2020-2021 school year. They're 3rd graders from all over the district, and many of them are low income, and struggle with access to materials; books specifically! My goal this year is to provide all 23 kiddos with physical books that they can keep, reread, and love! I will be hand delivering all books to my kiddos. Help me give the gift of reading to my students, and create a personal connection in a most turbulent time for them!

My Project

In a time when everything is virtual and my students are using screens to learn, I want them to be able to take a computer break and have their hands on something solid that will help them learn; sounds like just the job for a book! Hard copies of books will give both their eyes and their minds a rest.

Giving students books lets them explore new worlds, strengthen their reading skills, and let their imaginations soar!

These books will be permanent gifts to each child, and help create a connection to school when so much is done distanced.
