Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher in the Bronx, NY. Last year, we developed our first-ever school newspaper. Students volunteered their time to get this project off the ground, and they are SO DEDICATED to its success! Fast forward to September 2023, and we now have a credit-bearing course for the school newspaper AND school yearbook.

Our students work so hard on both publications and I am so proud of them!

However, we are lacking some of the resources that we need to make this project the most successful that it can be. Our student photographer is currently borrowing a camera from another program. It is not always available, and I'm afraid we will miss the most important shots without a camera. Also, our team often struggles to print things in color, due to the lack of color printers available to us. We want our publications to look amazing, and it is important that the school community sees them printed in color.

These items will be of immediate use to our students and will benefit classes in years to come. Thank you so much for your consideration!
