My Project

In today’s world, my students face increasing levels of anxiety and emotional challenges. As their high school math teacher, I see how these struggles affect their academic performance and well-being. To support them, I want to provide resources that promote mental health, self-care, and resilience.

What Makes My Students Special:

My students are a diverse group, many from low-income households, who face unique challenges at home and in school. Despite this, they are determined and eager to succeed. They deserve a classroom that supports both their academic and emotional needs.

Project Goals:

The goal of this project is to create a supportive environment where students feel safe, can manage stress, and build resilience. These mental health tools will help them cope with anxiety, foster a positive mindset, and improve their self-esteem.

How the Items Will Help:

The materials I’m requesting—anxiety survival guides, self-esteem workbooks, mood tracker journals, and positive affirmations coloring books—will help students develop coping strategies and encourage self-reflection. Mental health wall art will serve as daily reminders for students to take care of themselves, and journals and prompts will offer outlets for creative expression and emotional processing.

By also providing practical items like tissues, paper towels, and disinfecting supplies, I aim to create a clean, welcoming space where students can feel comfortable and supported.

Impact on Learning:

Supporting my students' mental health will improve their focus, confidence, and overall academic performance. When they feel emotionally secure, they are more engaged and better equipped to handle challenges. Your donation will make a lasting impact, helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
