My Project

Middle school English Learner students have great challenges. They take content courses using standards in English language arts, math, history, and science, and are also developing their academic English proficiency. Our phone-free students must be present in learning , yet I observe some students struggle with attention.

The snacks, fidget toys, and calm stickers will help students maintain their focus through learning and assessments.

My goals are for students to have choices and select based on their needs. Some students may be hungry, some prefer something to squeeze or fidget with, while others strive to have a positive note sent to their parents. Self-awareness and recognizing what they need for their success also builds student agency.
