Supporting Student With Unique Sensory Needs

Help me give my students swings, crash pads, sensory tools, spinning seats, adaptive seating, and additional sensory equipment support sensory regulation, motor coordination, focus, and emotional well-being for students on the autism spectrum.

My Project

We are expanding our special education programming to another elementary school within our district and need to outfit a motor room to support students on the autism spectrum. The funds will be used to purchase essential sensory tools and adaptive equipment, including swings, crash pads, spinning seats, sensory tools, and adaptive seating to help with sensory processing, emotional regulation, and physical development.

The motor room will provide students with a dedicated space to engage in sensory activities that will help them manage sensory overload, improve motor coordination, and regulate their emotions.

These tools will help students stay engaged, increase focus, and promote positive behaviors in the classroom. With the addition of fidget toys, textured materials, and other calming equipment, students will be better equipped to self-soothe and thrive in an inclusive learning environment.

Expected outcomes include improved sensory regulation, enhanced motor skills, increased classroom engagement, and a reduction in challenging behaviors. By offering these resources, we aim to create a more supportive and successful educational experience for students on the autism spectrum, promoting their overall well-being and academic success.
