Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This grant proposal seeks funding to purchase high-quality AP English Literature review books for all students enrolled in our AP English Literature and Composition course. These review books will serve as vital resources for students, particularly those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. The review books will provide students with comprehensive content, practice questions, and strategies, helping them prepare for the AP exam while equipping them with skills that are essential for success in college-level coursework.

Each year, many high school students face the challenge of preparing for the AP English Literature and Composition Exam, which requires a deep understanding of complex literary works, themes, and critical analysis skills.

This challenge is particularly significant for students who are the first in their families to attend college, as they often lack access to the same academic resources and preparation support that more privileged students might receive. Providing these students with a high-quality review book will help level the playing field and ensure they have the resources they need to perform their best on the exam.

Project Goals and Objectives:

Purchase Review Books for All Students: Ensure that every student in the AP English Literature course has access to a top-rated, up-to-date review book.

Support First-Generation College Students: Provide resources that will help first-generation students, who often lack access to additional academic materials, succeed in their AP exam and prepare for college.

Improve Exam Preparation: Offer a comprehensive guide with summaries, practice questions, critical thinking exercises, and test-taking strategies, to help students feel confident and well-prepared.

Foster Academic Excellence: Equip students with the skills needed for both success on the AP exam and in future college coursework, reinforcing the academic rigor of the class.
