Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to school with a lot of baggage. Many times there are no resources at home to purchase basic consumable school supplies such as pencils and glue. Food insecurity is a huge issue as well. Many times the only food available to a student is from school. Having snacks for my students who are hungry between meals fuels their bodies for learning.

Our school also places a huge emphasis on social and emotional learning through our advisory classes.

My advisory focuses on board games, where students can forget about academics for a little bit each day and have some fun with each other.
