My Project

My students are amazing in so many ways, but I am continually blown away by their commitment to independent reading. They are masters of choosing the right book for that moment in their life, engaged and focused on reading, and love sharing recommendations with classmates on Fridays. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing them so deeply interested in their books!

One collective goal we have is to add more nonfiction and informational texts to our reading worlds.

As nonfiction engagement is so subjective to the reader and their interests, the new color Kindle is the perfect addition to our library. Using ebooks through Sora and Libby, students can add books we may not have in the classroom, and have the ability to see the text features in color. I am so hopeful we can add this option.

This project also contains a few requested nonfiction and poetry titles, and a few new puzzles for choice time!
