Help me give my students a vivid experience this year with color printing and an engaging book! My students are newcomers from over 15 different countries living in Las Vegas, NV.
I am asking for color printing supplies and a class set of books that will support my vivid and diverse classroom of amazing English as a second language students. I work with both newcomer ELLs and those that are at the entering/emerging proficiency levels. These middle school students come from all around the world from countries like Japan, Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, Argentina, Peru, China, Israel, Mexico, Armenia, Albania, Russia, Ukraine, and more! These students are some of the most humble, hard-working students I have ever encountered.
A quality color printer will benefit my students as they learn and use new vocabulary.
When they see the words alongside colorful, visual pictures it provides a deeper level of comprehensible input. My current printer is black and white only, and being able to create manipulatives in COLOR will greatly enhance my students' learning. Additionally, your donation will support a full years worth of toner and paper. I would like to try a new book with these students. Our last class novel was a little beyond their level, so giving them an on grade story, that is engaging and broken into smaller chunks will help me teach them grade level standards through a story they understand.
I am deeply grateful for any and all support. This students are so deserving, and helping them as they navigate a new country and a new language is infinitely appreciated!
