My Project

The shift in education to focus on creating space for students to feel calm in the high school classroom has had a profound effect on the way students engage in school. The items requested in this project will help students find a comforting environment in my classroom and allow me to create a calming corner where students can find solace and take a break from the demands of being a high school student. So many times students are facing unseen stressors that can result in an inability to focus and thrive in their educational setting.

By providing the carpet, sensory toys and other supplies you are helping to create a classroom space where students can feed their minds and their bodies.

The quiet fidgets will be used to help keep students engaged in lectures and seat work by providing an outlet for energy, anxious or otherwise. The classroom decor will help to transform our space into a student centered learning environment that promotes comfort and excitement to hopefully facilitate deeper conversation and connection. Snacks included in this order will enable me to meet the needs of students who may not have resources to ensure that their food needs are met. Together we can create a classroom where students do not just exist, but they thrive.
