My Project

I am half way through the first year of a new early childhood specialist position at our small elementary school. I am primarily working with grades PK-2 on academic, behavioral, and social/emotional skills. Since this is a new position for me, I am finding that I need to build up my current materials and resources for older students, as what I had moving into this position were geared towards PK and kindergarten students. I am requesting Sensory Fidget Tubes, The Fidget Game Kindergarten Learning Bundle, Connect More - Social Skills Games and more.

I was in need of materials that could allow my students to be more engaged in their learning using hands-on materials, games, and tools to help regulate their varied emotions.

The children's books and materials, along with the teacher resources will help me to build my own bank of appropriate and appealing lessons. The materials I have requested will also provide sensory input, as they address the academic and social/emotional needs.

I have a much bigger focus on students with social/emotional needs this year and this project will allow me to address these needs in a more exciting way. When my students are happy and engaged, I am able to move them so much further in their learning process.

The funding made available through the State of Connecticut to support the Donors Choose projects is amazing and much appreciated.
