My Project

As a school counselor, providing snacks for students can be crucial for fostering a supportive and effective environment. Many students arrive at school without breakfast or may not have access to nutritious food at home, which can impact their focus, mood, and overall well-being. Snacks can help students regain energy, especially during high-stress times, such as testing periods or challenging counseling sessions, enabling them to engage more fully in their learning and personal development. For students dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, or family stressors, a snack can offer immediate comfort, helping to build trust and create a welcoming space.

By addressing basic needs, I can ensure that students feel cared for, respected, and safe, making them more likely to open up about their concerns and engage in counseling.

In addition, offering snacks encourages attendance in group or individual sessions and can provide opportunities to model and discuss healthy eating habits, further promoting students' physical and mental well-being. This simple gesture can be a powerful tool in reducing barriers and fostering a positive, holistic approach to student support.
