My Students

My students are rich with interest and love to ask questions. I want to make them genuinely motivated to find reasons, solutions, and support from a variety of resources.

When students are allowed to ask their own questions and pursue answers to them, the learning becomes the students' and the motivation is intrinsic.

Although my students’ interest levels are high, their understanding of science is still a work in progress.

My Project

Please help me build scientific literacy, engagement, and excitement among my students. We need resources - books about science, that will bring science alive. However, with budget cuts and limited supplies not to mention the fact that I work in a low-income, high-needs area, it is sometimes impossible to get the resources that I need as a classroom teacher. That is where you can help in a very meaningful way.

I want to implement instructional practices which rely on books of various topics in science to improve my students' understanding of science content.

I believe if these students are exposed to science in more hands-on and creative ways, they will be able to think more critically about science and understand the scientific processes involved in their own lives.
