Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a foster youth counselor, I run a Foster Youth Empowerment Leadership Council and support groups for my students. In the council and groups, I provide students with coping skills, team building skills, and leadership skills to be successful in school and their everyday lives.

This year, I plan to provide students with incentives and new ways to cope with living in the foster care system.

I will be using the supplies I receive for activities to assist students with coping and team building skills. I also plan to provide incentives every 5 weeks when I review my students grades and attendance as a way to motivate and improve their academics and attendance.

Please help my efforts in providing support to our nation’s most needed population, Foster Youth.
