Help me give my students swimsuits and goggles for the 2024-25 season to make swimming a little more accessible to an underserved community in Memphis!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This will be year THREE for our swim team at our school in Memphis, TN. Last year, we joined the middle school swim league and had two swimmers compete for the very first time -- making KIPP history!
Learning to swim and being safe around water can save a life and change it for the better in so many ways, such as getting a job as a lifeguard or making life-long friends as a part of a team.
For the last two years, we held swim lessons at the community center across the street, and the kids made so much progress (and had lots of fun!).
We'd love your support again so that our swimmers can have quality swimsuits and goggles at no cost to them.
