My Project

I am a first grade teacher at a very small public school that serves Black and Brown children in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles. I love my class because of their energy and their desire for hands-on learning. Especially with the rise of COVID in their very first years of school, many of my students have a negative perception of themselves as readers and writers.

Help my students see their own genius, as they use fun early literacy learning activities and seating that simultaneously build their phonemic awareness and their self-confidence.
