Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our educational campus hosts three public schools that collectively serve over 600 students and families in the poorest congressional district in the United States. Over 25% of our students live in shelters & many of them are newcomers to the United States. Despite the challenges that our school community faces, we exceed district benchmarks for attendance and academics.

We are looking to fund our resource pantry which helps our students and families meet their basic needs.

Our students deserve to go to school with dignity every day, and these essential products will help them do so.

Providing access to essential items, like hygiene products, is just the beginning of our work in leveling the playing field for our school community. Our schools are also dedicated to providing access to academic enrichment, character development, arts programming, financial literacy courses, mental health services, and more. Still, we know that students who do not have their basic needs met will struggle to fully benefit from these critical opportunities.

Please consider supporting the deserving families of the South Bronx. Your contributions demonstrate to our students that they are worthy and capable of achieving even their wildest dreams.
