My Students

Students in the "Keeping History Alive: Fashion Edition" Course will be in grades 9-12 and work with each other on a final fashion exhibition project highlighting different decades in American History. They will produce and design the displays based on their own scholarly research and visits to the Met Museum Costume Institute and the FIT Museum. This course is really special because it was suggested by students and will let them explore their own interests in depth. We do not currently have a fashion club at the school, so this is a great opportunity for iSchool students to explore their passion in this field!

My Project

In a new course (requested by students) at the NYC iSchool, we will look at clothing, accessories, fashion and style across American History and examine how fashion - over different decades - expressed key trends and ideas in our society. We will visit the fashion collections of some major NYC museums, and produce our own fashion exhibit / show at the end of the quarter. We need YOUR HELP to have the materials to put on a stunning display at the end of our coursework:
