My Students

My students are thirsty for learning in new ways. They thrive off of challenges, they seek answers and they are innovators in the classroom.

We are 5th grade explorers that love reading and presenting our lessons through the use of technology.

Our school is a Title 1 school in a struggling school district located in an urban setting. Resources in the school have been dwindling because of lack of school funding. Our school community tries their best to make-up the for the precious resources that have been taken away from our children. However, the severe lack of help yearly is getting too hard even for our community. We thrive off of grants that the faculty members seek out to try and insure a quality education that is equitable for all children.

My Project

What would we do with three iPads? Imagine a room with children that use technology to teach others outside of their classroom. Imagine a room where children could use technology to be mentors. Imagine a room where students create, design and facilitate their own lessons on a iPad. Imagine a room that students work collaboratively on a literacy based project. Imagine a room where children have a resource for research at their finger tips. Imagine... the possibilities are endless!!

Donations for this project will impact our classroom on such a high level.

We currently only have one computer in our classroom.The students current idea is to work with a 1st grade classroom as mentors and they want to be able to create lessons for their buddies and share their ideas through their virtual classroom.
