My Students

The students that I support are all rock stars in the making! They range in grade level from kindergarten to fifth, and have infinite potential, with a constant thirst for knowledge and structure. Whether in or out of the class room, they can always be found stretching themselves to new limits.

While extremely gifted and intelligent, I often find that many of my students happen to be lacking in other areas that most of us take for granted like housing and food security, clean clothing, and access to technology; I see a little piece of myself in each of these children, and I want to make sure that they have all of the necessary resources and support that they need to thrive, especially as we attempt to navigate through this global pandemic together.

My Project

We are a Title I school with limited resources for both students, their families, and in some cases, even staff.The items selected on this project will not only serve in boosting morale and promoting focus in the class room, but also supporting the families who don't have the very things that many people take for granted on a day to day basis like food, toiletries, and other essential need items.

The snack items in the cart will specifically be used as incentive for good behavior, and for demonstration of expected skills, while the food items will be provided to children, as well as sent home in care packages for families in need.

Items in this cart will be paired with some of the inventory from our food pantry and toiletry closet to best meet the needs of families and children, whether it be food for breakfast or dinner, or items for hygiene and personal care.
