My Project

In my role at BEES, I am seeing an increasing number of students with difficulty related to oral motor skills. In order to support my students, I am asking for additional articulation and oral motor supplies to educate them on the placement of their articulators (lips, teeth, tongue) and heighten their awareness of how to move their articulators using tools (i.e., tongue depressors, Z Vibe). To help them focus through drilling tasks, I am also requesting sensory tools to have their movement needs met while attending to task (i.e., stress balls, chair bands). Additionally, I am putting in a request for more literacy materials as the school is pushing to improve the literacy rates of our children.

I am inspired everyday by the hurdles my children must overcome to engage in conversation with fellow peers and teachers.
