My Project

The items I am requesting, such as culturally relevant books, art supplies, and multimedia resources, will provide my students with meaningful opportunities to explore and celebrate Black history. These resources will help bring stories of resilience, creativity, and leadership to life, encouraging students to connect with the accomplishments and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. By engaging in hands-on projects and discussions, my students will gain a deeper understanding of their heritage and develop a sense of pride and empowerment.

The goal of this project is to make Black History Month a transformative experience.

I want students to see Black history not as a single month but as an integral part of American history. By learning about influential figures and pivotal events, they will understand how history shapes the present and discover their ability to contribute to a more equitable future. Through creativity and critical thinking, students will reflect on these lessons in ways that inspire and motivate them.

My students are a dynamic and diverse group with a genuine passion for learning. Many come from underrepresented backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives and stories to our classroom. Despite challenges, they are resilient, curious, and eager to make a difference in their communities. By celebrating their heritage and providing tools to explore their history, I hope to empower them to embrace their potential as future leaders and changemakers.
