My Project

As a speech language pathologist in a special education school, I work with students with a variety of different needs. Many of these students require assistance with communication, sensory needs, and motor skills.

My goal is to give each of my students equal access to play despite their different abilities using these switch activated toys.

Traditional toys may not be accessible to students with different motor, cognitive and sensory abilities. The students will be able to activate the toys independently, empowering them and providing them with new and meaningful play experiences.

The switch activated toys help students to engage with peers and staff and promotes a stimulating environment that will foster learning and communication skills. Students with disabilities deserve equal access and opportunities to play, communicate, and learn. The funding of this project will directly support inclusion within the classroom and across the school community.
