My Students

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin. As a teacher, I work hard to help my students gain clarity and understanding through multiple entry points. Students learn and greatly benefit from different approaches to teaching and learning.

In our classroom, students learn how to be independent thinkers and proud learners.

They are supported and challenged to think deeper.

My students come from different backgrounds, share different talents, and are able to contribute in many ways to the learning that takes place in the classroom. We learn from one another, and help others to understand, using different techniques and various approaches to the topics. We work hard to find the best way that each of our students learn, and work with one another to ensure that we are reaching every individual student in a way that makes everyone feel successful. Our students understand material in a many different ways and together, we work to combine the pieces of information to develop a more collaborative understanding.

My Project

In today's world, so much of children's lives revolve around technology. Why not use this interest in technology to help students make progress in their educational goals?! These 4 Chromebooks will provide my students with opportunities to use technology in the classroom to access their learning. There are many fantastic websites that offer different modalities of learning, support student learning and have differentiated instruction for diverse learners; however, we need the technology to do so. For the students in my class that have special needs or are learning English as a second language, the Chromebooks will engage them in learning literacy and math skills, help develop a confidence in their individual learning styles, and help make them feel successful. Students can go onto websites such as xtramath.org, and starfall.com to practice math facts and phonics. They can visit newsela.com, brainpop.com and many other sites to conduct research, read fiction and nonfiction texts, and listen to books on tape to help improve their fluency.

Having Chromebooks will enrich students learning experiences by providing engaging academic experiences with access to differentiated instruction.

With these Chrome books, students can take turns using exciting technology to enhance their learning experiences. Students will also be able to access their GoogleDrives using the Chromebooks, allowing them to create documents and presentations. They can practice their typing and computer literacy skills that will be a core feature to their future successes.

Chromebooks in the classroom will give more students the opportunity to feel excited about learning. The Chromebooks will give students access to appropriate instruction and resources that best suites their needs. These technological tools will provide additional support to regular classroom teaching and has the power to engage students on a different level. Please help us make learning more powerful!
