Have you ever tried to learn about science without the most basic tools such as textbooks and writing utensils? We are trying to brighten our classroom and minds through basic activities involving paper and coloring utensils that our school can't afford!
I teach 7th and 8th grade students who attend an inner city public school that is full of staff and faculty that are giving everything they have to try and help these students achieve.
Our students are bright, vibrant and full of questions. They deserve a more interactive education than we can offer them due to a lack of funding and resources.
My Project
At our school, we already lack many supplies that other schools consider standard such as textbooks and computer access. I am a science teacher and our resources for science are even more limited. Our school's funding was recently cut down even more severely and some of our most basic needs are not able to be met. Due to our lack of textbooks teachers often make copies of two to three sheets of paper a day but are not able to get paper from our school because the money simply isn't there. Through this supply request of paper and crayons, I am asking you to help me enable my students to get the information they need to be able to even begin learning.
By donating to this project you are helping middle school students receive the education that they deserve.
Our school has decided to keep our devoted and highly qualified educators rather than fire people to free up funds. This is a service to our students but only if we can find other avenues from generous people like you to contribute to our lack in basic supplies. Thank you so much for being that avenue for us.
