My students need these supplies in order to have a more successful classroom experience. I want to give my students flexible seating within our classroom with options such as writing desks, kick bands, and stools.

My Students
I teach 5th Grade special education in a self contained setting. My students are from a high poverty area of Far Rockaway that was hit hard during Super storm Sandy my students could benefit greatly from new supplies and tangible learning items. This year our school was slatted to be closed by the NYC DOE but we were able to fight back and the students were given another chance to shine! As a teacher, I am always willing to give anything to my students that will benefit them.
In order to bring the learning environment to the next level, my students need some basic tools to show everyone how amazing they are!
These students come to school with very little and I want to be able to provide a better learning environment for them. Power Pens will put them each in control of their own learning. They will be able to practice skills and work towards mastery! Other supplies and resources will ensure that they are able to learn in a highly engaging environment.
My Project
Students need basic supplies to succeed in 5th grade. My goal is to give my students a greater chance to succeed by giving them an extra comfortable learning environment. I want to surround them with love and comfort and that starts with having access to a plethora of supplies.
Flexible seating options as well as special supplies will help to ensure they all succeed in 5th grade!
My students will be able to explore all of the knowledge I can supply them with in a classroom that is accessible, friendly, and inviting! Giving them access to any supplies they need is something that will allow them to continuously grow.
