Oprah once said, "When I look into the future, it's so bright it burns my eyes." This is how I feel about the future of my students.
We need various basic supplies to make our resources, games, centers, and materials bright and fun each day.
My first grade students are happy to come to school each day.
They come in and immediately greet me with a "Good Morning", unless I beat them to it. They are excited when we learn something new and when we add new things to our classroom. They attend a Title 1 school in the suburbs. They our reading and math stations, that I work extra hard to make colorful and engaging.
My Project
The brightly color copy paper, ink and cardstock will help make math and reading stations engaging and fun. The colors will help to make different papers and activities stand out and have students excited to use these materials. We play many games during reading and math stations, for example, sight word bingo, uh oh with long vowels, play doh sight word games and many card games while learning about math as well as creating pictures and crafts. My students also enjoy using task cards and QR Codes with our iPads to listen to stories and check answers. I will be able to print these cards and codes on color paper to sort the different ones and have students excited to use these materials.
The laminating pouches will make our materials sturdy and reusable each year.
