My Students

I am the school Guidance Counselor and Basketball Coach at a Title I elementary school in Brooklyn, NY. Our neighborhood school has a multitude of diverse students from many different cultures and backgrounds.

I recognize that our low-income students have basic needs like pencils, pens, paper, and notebooks which will help them engage in lessons, as they gain knowledge they can bring back to their community to improve overall welfare.

It aids school attendance, helping children to overcome instability and identity crisis as they have the necessary tools to get a quality education.

I want to provide academic, social and emotional development, and college and career readiness skills for all the students at my school.

With funding so limited in our school, money for supplies and kits are non-existent. I'm reaching out for help so we can develop minds of our future leaders.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by preparing them for academic rigor, civic engagement, social and emotional development, college and career readiness skills. Most of my students are looking forward to going back to school and socializing with their peers and being in a print-rich environment, working in groups and improving their class participation.

They will be able to take these supplies home and use for organization, planning and preparation.

I want to take the burden off families to have to spend money on expensive supplies.
