My Students

My students come from some of the most dangerous areas in Philadelphia. However, when they walk through the doors of our school they feel safe, loved, and are eager to learn. 100% of the students receive free meals. These students come from struggling homes and parents can barely afford uniforms, let alone school supplies. One of my goals is to make sure the students have everything they need in order to be successful, failure due to lack of resources is not an option!

My Project

These materials will give the students the opportunity to participate fully in learning. Often times students do not have school supplies, and as result they are unable to complete assignments. These materials will ensure that each student is able to complete assignments inside and outside of the classroom.

On the first day of school each student will be given a pack of school supplies to use throughout the year.

The pack of supplies will contain 2 folders, 2 pencils, a set of colored pencils, a set of markers, a glue stick, a pair of scissors, 3 ring binder, composition book, dividers, and loose leaf paper. Students will be able to take the supplies home to use for homework and projects. More often then not students are not completing assignments at home because due to lack of materials. By giving each students the materials they will be able to complete all assignments!

The chart paper, flip chart markers, and dry erase markers will be used for the students to participate in class small group activities. The copy paper will be used to prepare materials for the students Interactive Grammar Notebooks!
