Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a Title 1 school where about 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students come from underprivileged families and are English language learners. They come to school daily lacking basic school supplies and materials.

My third graders love learning and being engaged in meaningful activities.

I always encourage them to show their work when solving and working out math problems. The dry erase boards and markers will help them do just that and more. Additionally, the school supplies will give them the tools that they need to be successful through the end of the school year.

My students love earning Class Dojo points and they look forward to receiving prizes from our class treasure box. Additionally, some of my students make the extra effort to stay after school for tutoring and Saturday Academy. The snacks and treats will ensure that they are nourished to focus and obtain the extra practice that they need.
