My Students

Do you remember the excitement of opening up your backpack on the first day of school and pulling out all of your brand-new supplies? There were pencils, erasers, crayons, and much more. Unfortunately, many of my students bring very few supplies to school because their families can't afford them.

I have 24 enthusiastic and creative second grade students.

They love coming to school and are eager to learn. Our school has over 1,000 students from pre-k to eighth grade. It is a Title 1 school, which means that many of my students' families are living below the poverty line. Approximately 85% of the students receive free lunch.

My Project

I would love to be able to provide my students with the supplies that they need to be successful during the school year. The pencils, erasers, pens, tape and glue will be available for my students to use when completing their schoolwork and homework. They will store these supplies in the pencil cases. The folders will be used to safely store assignments that the students are working on in class. The copy paper will be used to print homework and classwork assignments. The students will use the catalog envelopes to bring their work home so that their families can see their academic progress.

These supplies might seem very basic, but they are incredibly important to an elementary school student.

There is very little a second grader can do without pencils, erasers, pens, paper, tape and glue! Please help my students have access to the most basic of supplies so that the can have a successful year!
