Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with 18 wonderful and inquisitive pre-kindergarten students in a very diverse school in Brooklyn, New York. We have children from many different cultures in our class and children with many special abilities.

Our Pre-K students love to learn new things daily!

For many of these children, it is their first year in school. They are learning about themselves, others, school rules, routines, and many new concepts in various subjects! They have many opportunities to explore what kind of learners they are and learn concepts in many different ways!

My Project

Small group learning is a must in early childhood, even during remote learning. Due to covid 19 NYC students will get a blend of remote learning and in class learning. Some parents will opt for fully remote. For those learning via live instruction, they will need individualized learning tools for small group instruction.

Due to severe budget cuts and the DOE eliminating Teacher's Choice (money for teachers to buy supplies) this year, we are desperate for supplies to create learning materials!

I need paper, ink, laminating paper, magnetic tape (to use on a magnetic board) and card stock to create individualized learning materials for small group instruction. An example would be creating, laminating, and using name cards, puzzles, and writing paper that I create for individual students which can not be bought. I would like to create these materials at home to help children learn important academic concepts in a fun way.
