My Students

First grade is such a growing year for students academically and socially. They learn how to be problem-solvers, how to ask questions, and I am always amazed by how much they grow as readers! They also start to learn more responsibility and independence. My students have such an excitement and eagerness to learn. They have sweet hearts and truly care for one another. I enjoy seeing their happiness as they walk into our classroom each day!

One thing I will always love about my students is how much I also learn from them.

Every group of students is unique and every day is different. No matter how many times I have taught something or even if it is brand new, they always surprise me with their thinking and curiosity. We have fun trying new things together, exploring answers, and sharing celebrations in our success.

My Project

Returning to school this fall will be a time like no other. To keep our students safe during this time, students will not be sharing supplies. This will change some things in our classroom! We normally share some supplies such as white boards, clipboards, dry erase markers, etc. I will now need a spot for each student to put extra supplies. The tall rolling carts will allow students to each have a drawer for their own clipboard,white board, and some additional supplies. The small pencil boxes would also go in this drawer. The pencil box would be used for extra pencils, students own set of dice, glue stick, and dry erase marker. The 'crayon' box would be used instead for a deck of cards that students would use for math activities. I want to do the best I can to make coming back to school as smooth as possible for students and families. I'm hoping having these supplies will help us stay organized but also be one additional way I can help with safety in our classroom!
