This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher in an integrated co-teaching classroom, and we work with students who have individualized education plans and students who do not. Many of our students do not have enough access to supplies and resources, and we are always looking to provide them with more.

We are a class filled with different learners who are always looking to help one another.

They are all sweet and treat one another with great respect and kindness. Our job is to provide students with the skills and strategies they need in order to find success, whether they are in special education or general education.

My Project

What creates a successful and motivated student? Feeling strong and confident in themselves! Each year we ask students to bring in a list of supplies, and many times there are parents who struggle to obtain these items. Providing our students will supplies like crayons and notebooks at the beginning of the school year will allow for our students to feel confident and ready to learn!

Our students work hard every day and classroom supplies such as crayons, notebooks, markers, glue, and supply boxes will motivate them to continue to work hard!

There is nothing like a fresh pack of crayons to engage a student in completing an assignment! Out students would love and appreciate these supplies that will support their learning and help them to feel proud of their work. Many of our students struggle with organization skills, which hinders their learning and progress in school. They often lose materials and have a difficult time keeping track of their things. Our students tend to get lost and easily overwhelmed by the amount of materials they are expected to keep track of. Supply boxes and clear pouches will help our students stay organized and be successful!
