Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom, I have a culturally diverse group of students. Although my students are culturally diverse, they all have a similar struggle with poverty. Despite their lives not being so uplifting outside of school, my students are able to come to school and put their best effort forth.

My students enjoy learning new things by pushing themselves to explore topics they have never experienced before.

They get excited when they are learning something new and actually understanding it. They feel empowered when they are receiving experiences in school that would not be possible otherwise because of the poverty they live in. They are a great group of kids who make coming to work enjoyable.

My Project

These materials will help my students get through everyday tasks. They are constantly using and losing pencils which are integral tools in their lives as students. My students need pencils, markers, pens and other basic supplies. They need these materials to be able to complete various classroom assignments in many different subjects. It is important they have these materials at their fingertips.

In order to be successful in the classroom, students need these supplies.

Not only do they use materials like pencils on a daily basis, but in various subjects they are required to use other materials for their interactive notebooks. These notebooks are a fun way to learn key terms and strategies within the classroom. A lot of students take pride in these notebooks in order to increase their grades and stay on top of their school work.

My students need pencils to help them complete assignments daily. In class, we do a lot of interactive work with whiteboards and markers, and these are constantly running out. The children love to use the markers and white boards, and I would like to continue being able to do so. When my students write essays, they complete final copies in pen which we run out of often. When writing these final copies, they do make mistakes and require correction fluid to help them fix these mistakes with ease. In order to keep their papers organized by subject, my students like to use paper clips and binder clips to help with their organization. We are constantly using glue in the classroom for our interactive notebooks and class projects as well as Sharpies to make these projects stand out more. These materials would benefit us greatly in many ways.
