My Students

My students are bright and full of potential. Our school is a high-risk Title 1 school where 40% of families live in temporary housing. In our school community we support each other and work hard to help everybody grow.

During this time of blended learning, we are working hard to set up a safe classroom environment for our students.

Now that groups of students are using the classroom, and using the classroom desks on alternating days we need safe ways for the students to store their class materials so they can access them safely when they are in the school. We would like to get secure bins for the students to store their belongings in the classroom since they can no longer leave them in their desks.

We also need art supplies for our students. We usually share crayons, colored pencils, and markers, but since we can't share materials safely anymore we don't have enough art supplies for the children to each have some. It has really limited the creativity of the children, because they don't have a way to express their creativity.

My Project

By giving each child in the class pencils, markers, crayons, and other supplies including a storage bin to keep their belongs. These classroom materials and supplies will be organized in a safe way, ensuring that no one else is using the same materials. Also, by giving the children a set of art supplies of their own to use, they will be able to creatively express themselves in a safe way.

I want our class to be a safe space where my students can come learn and create during this difficult time.

By being able to have their own supplies, stored separately, they will be able to safely use their supplies and materials to progress as much as they can this year!
