Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic, smart 5th graders who would benefit from your donations. These students attend a Pre-Kindergarten - 8th-grade school. Our student body is 99% Latino. Our school is located in a low socio-economic, bilingual community. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are a Title I school that serves one of the poorest areas in the Los Angeles County. Most of these students are English language learners, many of which also come from disadvantaged homes.

My Project

Having these essential tools for my students will get them ready to learn as they return to full-time, in-person learning. Much of our school's population come from disadvantaged homes. Having crayons, notebooks, folders, highlighters, and TIME magazines, students will be motivated to learn. The TIME for KIDS magazines will allow my students to read about current events. With these basic school supplies, students do not have to feel stressed out about having their parents purchase such items. They will be ready for school after being remote for a year and a half.
