Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher at a wonderful Title I school in the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City. Ninety six percent of our students are eligible for free lunch, but this does not dampen the spirits of these motivated students. Many of my students do not have access to technology in their homes. I have worked very hard to make our classroom a bright and happy environment, despite the struggles many of our children face every day.

In first grade, I try my best to engage the kids in literacy centers that stimulate, enhance and challenge them to practice the literacy skills they need to be successful readers and writers.

We use a lot of supplies everyday. My students loves to read and write.

Pencils, crayons, erasers, paper, and folders are all basic supplies that we need in our classroom. We have run low or even out of some of them. We need materials to help us learn! Many times we run out of basic materials in the middle of the year.Help replenish our basic classroom supplies so our students can continue learning to their full potential! My Project

My students need basic supplies such as paper, pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, and erasers to keep on learning. These basic supplies will help keep my students equipped with the materials necessary to be successful in school.

My kids are learning new things everyday and we use these basic supplies every day in 1st grade for centers, reading, math, and so much more.

Help us add some basic classroom supplies to our room to enhance learning and engagement! These supplies are basic but they are very much needed for a fun and successful learning environment. With your donations, we can continue learning at the highest level with all the supplies we need.
