Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is the beginning of the school year and I need a starter kit. I do not know my students yet but I need certain supplies to start the school year. This is a new grade level for me and need some supplies different than last year.

These items will help my students in all academic subjects.

Every year, many of them cannot afford them, and therefore I have to buy a lot of the most basic supplies for them from my own funds

My school's enrollment is about 700 students and they all are on free lunch. We receive Title I funds in addition to funds for English Language Learners, which comprise about 40% of our total enrollment.

My Project

My students need 4 notebooks each for Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts. They take daily notes, do assignments, and homework. Most of the work is done in notebooks as loose sheets of paper would be easily lost and therefore not practical for later reference of class notes. These are needed to be able to complete assignments or study for tests.

The whiteboards are for mini-lessons taught in all subject areas, especially reading and math facts practice.

Whiteboards are a great tool to use throughout the day.

Students become very excited when they do not have to always worry about turning in work but rather just practice the skills needed to do well in school.
