This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Children feel loved, empowered and successful in order to achieve their highest levels of personal academic excellence. Our goal is to instill habits in our students that will foster autonomy and help them become the leaders of today and the future.
We are a Title I school in Corona, Queens which was greatly affected by the pandemic as their community was labeled the epicenter of COVID-19.
Throughout it all, students have continued to try their best to stay engaged. We are a Leader In Me School that is preparing them to be part of society.
My Project
Our school uses TC for Reading and Writing. Post-Its allow students to read and stop-n-jot their ideas about their books. We also glue charts and notes in their notebooks for them to reference when they need extra support.
Our class will use these supplies to keep themselves organized by having all of their subjects in one notebook.
They will be able to just have one notebook to travel back and forth from remote learning and in-person learning.
The students brought in some of these supplies at the beginning of the year, but they are used so often that we are almost out. We would really appreciate your support in replenish our supplies in need.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
