Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds. They live in a neighborhood in which there is high poverty. Many of our students live in a shelter, with a foster parent or in public housing projects. Their parents may not have the economic resources to cater to their every need, this includes school supplies. The students that I specifically serve are students with disabilities, which in many cases are behind academically and require a lot of explicit instruction to generalize and maintain newly taught concepts.

Approximately 30% of the school population are students with disabilities.

They need our support and encouragement.

My Project

Your donations will make a difference because they will help the students receive the materials they need to practice the skills that will be taught during the school year. With the materials being requested will help in the development of language and vocabulary activities. The students will practice their language skills via a fun and interactive way. The sentence strips, markers and laminating pouches will provide the tools for teachers to create different activities for the students to learn. Your donation will provide a lot of support to make the students feel successful when learning such needed language skills in their everyday lives.
