Help me give my students a positive experience as they will be returning to school after a long and confusing time. This project will help me get them started with their own personal supplies.
I teach in a community school located in a high needs area. My students receive special education services. Each school year, I find that my kids have a tremendous amount of energy. They enjoy learning but need constant hands-on engagement throughout any lesson. This year, we face new challenges in our classrooms and I want to be sure that my students have what they need to succeed.
My kids are so special to me.
They need access to resources that will allow them to learn in all modalities whether they are in or out of the classroom. Every day I go to work, I want to make it a positive experience for them because that is what each one of them deserves.
New materials will increase the learning in my class and will allow my students to become excited and interested in learning in a way that allows them to discover and appreciate all that education has to offer. Having their own materials will enable them to work in safe way that is personalized just for them!
My Project
This project will get my class started in the most positive way this year. I would like to put together individual pouches for my students so they have their own personal supplies and are ready to learn both inside and outside of the classroom.
Each student will have a pouch filled with supplies for home use and one that will be kept in the classroom.
Each student will also have their own mask that attaches to a necklace which will be kept in the classroom and will be worn daily. Masks will be picked by each kid on the first day of class with the hopes that having their very own in the classroom will make them want to wear it throughout the day.
These supplies will ensure that my students will be successful whether they are in the classroom with me or learning remotely. The more successful they feel, the more they will learn, regardless of what this school year throws our way!
