My Students

My students are observant, creative, and curious. They have a ton of energy and a lot of questions!

It is amazing to watch how their minds work, the different perspectives they each have, and how they come together to understand each other.

Many of my students are first-generation American and speak other languages in their homes, often having to translate to their parents. It is rewarding to see them each come in, prepared and eager every day.

I am an ESL teacher in a classroom filled with eager students who need many supports. Our school is a Title 1 school, with limited resources. All of our students qualify and receive free lunch. As teachers, it is our challenge to find ways to give our students what they need with the limited budget that we have.

My Project

Our students are super excited to come back to the building. This pandemic has shown us how important it is to be in school, in a classroom. While we are all trying to get back to normal, this may look a little different for some of our students.

After a year and a half at home, these supplies will help bring back some normalcy into our school day, not having to worry about the pencils they forgot to bring in, or headphones they do not have.

The supplies will also allow our students to take charge of their learning! Flexible seating allows students to make responsible choices that work best for them.
