My Project

The use of these supplies are part of our daily activities in our classroom, especially in writing, and reading. During our writing workshops we annotate, and highlight various elements that are crucial to modeled strategies. These tools will allow us to identify key elements in their writing, as well as their reading. What becomes a problem is the fact that these tools never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, pens run out, highlighters disappear and are unable to be replaced. When we're in a lesson, students know that they need these tools such as a marker, new eraser, or the last choice, crayon and paper. Even though they are great about finding items or borrowing them, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction from either myself or other students!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus these tools will increase their literacy in more complex pieces of literature as their desire to learn and use these strategies!
