My Students

I teach at a rural high school where the whole student body is about 800-1000 students in grades 9-12. Some of my students have life goals of going to college, and I help them prepare to be college-ready by teaching some of the basics of the Spanish language. Another portion has life goals of learning a trade, and learning Spanish helps them be marketable in their trade by being able to communicate in a foreign language.

Being bilingual is the future of the American job market.

My Project

I am starting to incorporate a new curriculum called Somos by Martina Bex in my classroom. This year I have discovered a few supplies I need that I do not have for activities that are part of assignments from Somos and I do not necessarily want to pay out of pocket for these items. With the pandemic I have discovered that some students have rejected the concept of virtual learning and want to learn via pencil and paper and I do provide that for my students that are in my classroom so I am asking for a replenishment of paper and pencils.
