This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a public school in Elmhurst, Queens that serves a low-income population of over 1,700 students. This year, we are following a fully in person learning style as we go back into school, meaning that my students will have to learn to transition from learning on devices to using pencil and paper again. Many of my students families have been impacted financially due to the pandemic and I would like to support them by providing basic supplies.

My students are sweet, determined, enthusiastic learners who deserve to the materials to help them support their learning experience.

I want to create the most positive and equitable learning experience for my students by providing them with basic supplies to learn.

My Project

The goal of having these materials is to help support their learning despite their current financial situation. I want to have their pencils all sharped and organized into their own pencil cases by the time they step into my classroom! NYC is expecting to open up schools to full time in person learning. These supplies will help students limit the potential spread of COVID as much as possible by providing my students with personal supplies.

I am requesting for basic supplies such as pencils, pencil cases, erasers and dry erase markers and erasers.

Students have spent a whole year learning on t their personal devices and tablets. Now it's time for them to start learning with pencils and paper again. These supplies will allow students to use different types to materials to learn such as pencils or dry erase markers to support their learning.
